 Scott
Gamboe was born and raised in Illinois. The son of
a Navy Corpsman who fought in Vietnam, Scott joined the Army,
where
he served as a paratrooper in the 82nd
Airborne Division for four years. His first taste of combat
was during the Panama invasion in 1989. He saw action again
in Saudi Arabia and Iraq in 1990-91 during the first Gulf War.
He left the Army in late 1991, having attained the rank of Sergeant,
and served three more years in the Illinois National Guard.
In 1995, he obtained
a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University
of Illinois. He has been a police officer since the mid
1990's, and he is currently serving as a Crime Scene Investigator.
He resides in central Illinois with his wife, Jill, and their
daughter, Erica.
