Lisa
Manuel. A 2003 Golden Heart Finalist and 2005 Holt Medallion
Finalist, Lisa Manuel makes her home in South Florida with her
husband of twenty-five years and two teenaged daughters. Living
where it’s warm and sunny year round requires lots of research
for books set in chilly Great Britain, but Lisa calls that a labor
of love. She finds inspiration in traveling and several trips
to the British Isles have certainly helped her develop a feel
for craggy hills and windswept moors, but Lisa also indulges in
hobbies that let her experience life from her characters’ perspective.
Shephard’s
Pie and traditional Christmas Wassail are among her favorite recipes,
on weekends you’ll often find her engaging archery in her
backyard, and a glimpse into her closet will reveal period costumes
ranging from a Medieval surcote to a Regency day gown. Lisa is
also fairly adept at the folding, wrapping and pinning of the
Scottish Great Kilt.
Currently,
Lisa is serving as Vice President of her local RWA chapter, the
Florida Romance Writers.
