Lisa
Manuel. A 2003 Golden Heart Finalist and 2005
Holt Medallion Finalist, Lisa Manuel makes her home in
South Florida
with her husband of twenty-five years and two teenaged
daughters. Living where it’s warm and sunny year
round requires lots of research for books set in chilly
Great Britain, but Lisa calls that a labor of love. She
finds inspiration in traveling and several trips to the
British Isles have certainly helped her develop a feel
for craggy hills and windswept moors, but Lisa also indulges
in hobbies that let her experience life from her characters’ perspective.
Shephard’s Pie and traditional Christmas Wassail
are among her favorite recipes, on weekends you’ll
often find her engaging archery in her backyard, and a
glimpse into her closet will reveal period costumes ranging
from a Medieval surcote to a Regency day gown. Lisa is
also fairly adept at the folding, wrapping and pinning
of the Scottish Great Kilt.
Currently, Lisa is serving as Vice President of her local
RWA chapter, the Florida Romance Writers.
