The Benjamin Franklin Awards and Book Expo America stir
up excitement for Medallion Press!

May is a busy time for Medallion Press as we gear up for Book Expo America, but this year a few other things have caused some added excitement!

First, There is a River by Kathy Steffen and The Vampire Shrink by Lynda Hilburn have been named as two of the three finalists in the PMA 2008 Benjamin Franklin Awards in the category of Best New Voice (Fiction). The winners of the awards will be announced the day before Book Expo America, Thursday, May 29th, at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

Book Expo America is in Los Angeles, California, this year, and Medallion Press will be on hand showcasing three of our highly anticipated fall releases: Blaze of Lightning, Roar of Thunder by Helen A Rosburg, Johnny Gruesome by Gregory Lamberson, and Darkscape: The Rebel Lord by R. Garland Gray. The show begins on May 30th and runs through June 1st. It is a great place for publishers, authors, booksellers, retailers, agents, and many more from the publishing industry to gather under one roof to get a sneak peak at upcoming trends, releases, and so much more. This year we have some exciting things in store, so here is a look:

This year Medallion Press will be celebrating the anticipated release of Helen A Rosburg’s Blaze of Lightning, Roar of Thunder. The book is set to be released in August of 2008, but you can get your hands on an advance copy of the finished book at Helen’s traditional autographing on Friday, May 30th at 9:30 a.m.—10:30 a.m. at table number 9 and at her in-booth signing on Sunday, June 1st from 10:00 a.m.—11:00 a.m. Medallion Press will be located within the Independent Publishers Group Booth, number 925.

Also, to lead up to the release of the book, Medallion Press will be showcasing Helen A Rosburg in the walkway between the South and West Halls. This area will pay tribute to Book Expo being in Los Angeles by saluting Helen, Hollywood Walk of Fame style. Stop by and see each of Helen’s stars on the walk of fame and take a journey through her previous releases that will lead you all the way up to Blaze of Lightning, Roar of Thunder.

Attendees will also be able to meet and obtain an advance copy of Johnny Gruesome by Gregory Lamberson due out in stores October 2008, and Darkscape: The Rebel Lord by R. Garland Gray due out in stores December 2008. Stop by and meet the authors at both their traditional and in-booth signings throughout the weekend.

R. Garland Gray will have a traditional autographing on Friday, May 30th at 9:30 a.m.—10:30 a.m. at table number 11. She will also be signing on Saturday, May 31st in booth number 925 from 2:00 p.m.—3:00 p.m.

Gregory Lamberson will be signing copies in booth number 925 on Friday, May 30th at 11:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m. He will also have a traditional autographing on Saturday, May 31st at 4:00 p.m.—5:00 p.m.
